PUMA wins GOOD DESIGN Award for Clever Little Bag

PUMA is proud to announce that its Clever Little Bag has won a GOOD DESIGN Award. The GOOD DESIGN Awards are in their 60th year of existence, having been founded in 1950 by early modernist designers, including Eero Saarinen, and Charles and Ray Eames. The GOOD DESIGN Awards have subsequently become one of the oldest and most recognized design awards in the world. The Awards are now hosted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

In 2010, The GOOD DESIGN Awards received a record amount of applications. The selection jury choose from over 500 entries from 36 different countries.

Designed by fuseproject founder Yves Béhar, the Clever Little Bag is a eco friendly alternative to the typical cardboard shoebox. The Clever Little Bag uses less packaging, fewer raw materials and less water and energy in production than traditional shoe boxes.  Thanks to a reduction in weight, energy use is also decreased during shipping. Annually, this translates into a 65% reduction in paper usage, 20 million megajoules of electricity saved, a reduction of 1 million litres of fuel, a savings of 1 million litres of water, and a 10,000 tonnes reduction in annual carbon emissions.
